Description

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the supply of materials, which has been requested by a mechanic, another department, or which serves as stock replenishments. The Purchasing Specialist decides on the source of the material and recommends alternate solutions.
The Purchasing Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensure on time purchasing and supply of materials, services or tooling on optimal prices, place and track purchase orders for materials, services and tooling, monitor the complete supply chain until the material or service is available at the facility, make sourcing decisions, including ‘make or buy' decisions, collect and negotiate quotes from vendors, coordinate with suppliers in case of delayed delivery, liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, customs and with other internal departments as the customer, and optimize purchasing with regards to total costs of purchasing.
 

Your profile

Bachelor's degree in Logistic or Material Management with professional experience of at least eight (8) years in the area of logistic processes (physical logistics, transport, planning and purchasing) is required. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, including fluent English (spoken and written), are a must. Skills in MS Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required; experience with SAP desired.
